Oldest, most expensive, newest en üstünlük belirten sıfatlardır.
Sıfatlara -est eki getirerek veya öncesinde most kelimesini kullanarak en üstünlük belirtebiliriz.

Genellikle önce en üstünlük derecesini kullanırız:
London is the biggest city in England. (Londra İngiltere'deki en büyük şehirdir.)
The Taj Mahal is the most beautiful building in the world. (Tac Mahal dünyada en güzel binadır.)
en üstünlük derecesi belirtilen yerler için < in > öneki kullanılır. (of ön eki kullanılmaz.) :
