17) Uses of get, do and make

Get kelimesi bir çok anlamlara gelir. Bunlardan bazıları:

have got = "have"
Have you got any brothers or sisters?
(Sizin erkek ya da kızkardeşleriniz var mı?)

get (+noun) = "receive"
Did you get any letters today? (Siz bugün mektup aldınız mı?)
She got a dictionary for her birthday.
(Onun doğum günü için bir sözlük aldı.)

get (+noun) = "obtain", "buy"
Could you get a pen from my desk?
(Siz yazı masamdan bir dolma kalem alabilir miydiniz? )
I'll get some cheese when I go to the shops.
(Alışverişe gittiğimde biraz peynir alacağım.)

get to (+noun) = "arrive at / in"
What time did you get to the office? (Siz ofise ne zaman ulaştınız?)

get (+adjective) = "become"
Everything is getting more expensive. (Herşey daha pahalıydı.)
It was very hot and we got very thirsty. (Çok sıcaktı ve çok susamıştık.)

Get ile kullanılan sıfatlardan bazıları :

Do ve make kelimelerinin kullanımına örnekler:
A: What's Jim doing? (Jim ne yapıyor?)
B: He's making a cake. (Kek yapıyor.)
A: What sort of cake is he making? (O ne tür kek yapıyor?)
B: A chocolate cake. (Çikolatalı kek.)
A: What's Helen making? (Helen ne yapıyor?)
B: She isn't making anything. (Hiçbir şey yapmıyor.)
A: What's Helen doing then? (Öyleyse Helen ne yapıyor?)
B: She's reading. (Okuyor.)

Genellikle yapılan davranışlar için do kullanırız.
make kelimesini üretilen şeyler için kullanırız.
