Did you eat those sandwiches? (Şu sandviçleri yediniz mi?)

SINGULAR (tekil)	PLURAL (çoğul)
this car	these cars
that car	those cars

this, that, these, those kelimeleri isimlerle birlikte kullanılır.
I like this painting. (Bu tabloyu beğenirim.)
Those apples are delicious. (Şu elmalar nefisler.)

this, that, these, those kelimeleri isim olmadığında anlamsızdır.
A student has just finished his homework, and he says to friend. (Bir öğrenci zar zor ev ödevini bitirdi ve arkadaşına söyler:)
That was easy! (Şu kolaydı!) (That = the homework)

Mike meets his mother at the station. He picks up her suitcases, and he says :(Mike istasyonda annesiyle buluşur. Bavullarını kaldırır ve söyler:)
These are heavy! (Bunlar ağırlar!) (These = the cases)

Bize yakın olan şeyler için this ve these, bize yakın olmayan şiyler için that ve those kelimelerini kullanırız.

Şimdi veya yakın zamanda olan olaylar için this ve these kelimelerini kullanırız.
John (at at concert) : (John konserde)
Some of these songs are beautiful. (Bu şarkıların bazıları güzeldir.)

Bitmiş ve yakın zamanda olmayan şeyler için that ve those kelimelerini kullanırız.
John (after leaving the coscert) : (John konserden ayrıldıktan sonra)
Some of those songs were beautiful. (Şu şarkıların bazıları güzeldi.)
